Did you hear that? The haunting, distant call of wind chimes in the winter night? And the wind rises, cold as death and sharp as a dagger around the walls of this house. Winter has fallen hard dearest one and all is silent say for those ever tinkling chimes.
Turning to you with a mad brightness to my dark eyes I take both your hands in mine and urgently whisper,
"Come love, and we shall dance through the wind!"
You smile in return, ever patient with my random notions and with lilting laughter on our lips we gayly venture out into the cold; hand in hand.
And how we run! With all the passion of love we fly through the woods as if on mortal wings, all the while smiling; always sending joyous laughter echoing through the night. Your emerald eyes are alight with the energy of this as are mine I am sure and I can't stop my lips from curving into a smile as you embrace me and hold me close. Had I shivered with the cold?
"You're shivering"
you murmur in my ear and I nod, my teeth chattering and I clench them to try and deny it.
"Come inside then love."
And together we walk the trail back to the house and sit close inside it's walls and '''tis not long before my sleeping form rests against you and your eyes close as well.
My eyes snap open and look where I am, sitting in the middle of my living room floor, my mind just clearing from the hours of SLEEP.
